Since the introduction of the ultrasound method into medical practice, the scope of its application has been constantly expanding. This is due both to the emergence of new scanning
modes and improvement of the technical characteristics of ultrasound scanners, as well as
to the development of clinical protocols and the discovery of new capabilities of the method.
Today it is difficult to imagine the work of multidisciplinary clinics without being equipped
with ultrasound equipment; moreover, the realities of our time require emergency doctors
to have ultrasound examination skills. The authors of the article compiled a literature review
on the protocol for ultrasound examination of patients in critical condition, where they tried
to reveal the diagnostic capabilities of the method and the research algorithm.
