Abstract

The article describes a rare case of treatment of a patient in the emergency traumatology
department of the Republican research centre of emergency medicinewith polytrauma and
a complex fracture of the pelvic bones (type C), complicated by thrombosis of the femoral
vein on the right. The patient underwent a simultaneous operation: clipping of the inferior
vena cava and open osteosynthesis of the right ilium, inner wall of the acetabulum, right
pubic bone with plates and screws with restoration of the pubic joint with a plate. The given
example substantiates the need for a comprehensive approach in the diagnosis and treatment of complications, namely deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities in patients
with polytrauma.
