Abstract

A significant increase in the average age of a patient with cardiac diseases inevitably led to an increase in the
proportion of comorbid patients at a doctor’s appointment, including people suffering from cognitive impairment
(CI), including vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The article covers the issues of managing patients
with CI in comorbid patients with arterial hypertension (AH), in particular, the main aspects of the correction
of cardiovascular risk factors and the choice of optimal drug therapy are considered. Information is provided
on the possibility of using the drug Mexidol for the treatment of patients with chronic cerebral ischemia (CHI)
and CI. The results of studies examining the possibility of using Mexidol for chronic cerebrovascular disorders
with CI in comorbid patients with hypertension are analyzed.
