Old foreign body in the middle-lobar bronch of the right lung (clinical case and literature review)

Abstract

This article is devoted to a review of the literature on the aspiration of foreign bodies into the lower respiratory
tract. A brief analysis of modern ideas about the etiology, classification and clinical picture of foreign body
aspiration into the lower respiratory tract was carried out. Questions of methods of diagnostics and principles
of treatment, possible complications are considered. An example of a clinical case from our own practice of an
old foreign body in the bronchus of the medial segment of the middle lobe of the right lung is also given, with
a 10-year-old aspiration episode, the clinical manifestation of which was recurrent hemoptysis for 5 years.
