Abstract

Purpose: To substantiate the effectiveness of using domestic production a powdered polymeric hemostatic
agent with silver nanoparticles to control bleeding and prevent recurrence of bleeding from experimental
gastric ulcers in dogs.
Methods: In vivo experiments were carried out on the basis of the experimental laboratory of the RRCEM.
The object of the study was a dog (male, weighing 10 kg). EGD was performed under intravenous anesthesia
using an Olympus GIF-E3 with an adapted video system. A biodegradable biopolymer with silver nanoparticles
was used as a hemostatic agent. Biopsy specimens of the mucous membrane from the edges and bottom of
the gastric ulcer at each endoscopy served as the material for the morphological study.
Results: On the 4th day from the beginning of the experiment, an acute gastric ulcer was obtained. The
obtained visual and morphological data show that the use of biopolymer powder with silver nanoparticles
is effective in the treatment of experimental gastric ulcers, acceleration of the phase change of the
ulcerative process is noted. The appearance of fibroblasts in the granulation tissue of the ulcer in the
absence of their active reaction from the 4th day of treatment indicated an early onset of the healing
process, which ended with a delicate scar (the stage of red scar).
