Cognitive impairment (CI) is a widespread clinical syndrome that is often experienced by a
wide range of specialists in an outpatient setting. Diagnosing diseases of which CI is a symptom is a difficult task. The presence and type of CN are determined using scales. Cerebrovascular disease is one of the common causes of vascular cognitive disorders (VCD). This article
discusses the methods of managing patients with VCD against the background of cardiovascular risk, in particular, discusses such key aspects as the correction of cardiovascular risk
factors and the choice of optimal drug therapy. The article also provides information on the
possible use of Mexidol in the treatment of such patients, analyzes the results of studies on
the effectiveness of long-term sequential therapy with Mexidol in chronic cerebral circulation disorders with CI.
