Combined method of mechanical brain revascularization during the «therapeutic window» of ischemic stroke

The strategy of early recanalization of the occluded vessel and restoration of blood flow in
the stroke-dependent artery is pathogenetically justified and the most effective. Thrombolytic therapy and thrombus extraction achieve recanalization of the occluded vessel, but they
do not eliminate the atherosclerotic plaque causing critical stenosis or occlusion of the vessel. Stenting of the carotid artery at the site of the atherosclerotic plaque ensures the complete elimination of the etiological factor of ischemic stroke.
