Aim. To evaluate the feasibility of replantations in isolated traumatic amputations of the socalled «long» three-phalangeal fingers of the hand.
Patients. The results of 13 cases formations of the so-called «narrow» hand in traumatic
non-replantable amputations of the long fingers are presented.
Results. All patients had good both immediate and distant functional and cosmetic results. In
1–2 months after the injury all of them returned to their previous work.
Conclusions. in a number of cases of single traumatic amputations of the «long» fingers of the
hand, with a complex mechanism of injury, it is more expedient to initially refuse replantation and immediately perform the formation of a «narrow» hand.
