Abstract

The possibilities of traditional and modern diagnostic methods in a patient with an open chest injury with
suspected heart injury are shown. During the initial examination, the signs of heart damage were doubtful,
and therefore, given the stable condition of the patient, a chest MSCT was performed, where a heart injury
was detected. The patient underwent videothoracoscopy, pericardiotomy, suturing of the wounds of the left
ventricle, sanitation and drainage of the left pleural cavity, i.e. the peculiarity of this clinical case is the use of
minimally invasive technologies both at the stage of diagnosis and at the stage of treatment. The complexity
of diagnosis and the choice of optimal tactics for the treatment of patients with penetrating heart wounds
determines the need for timely diagnosis using a whole arsenal of modern imaging methods, as well as the
study of cardiopecific enzymes.
