Myocardial stunning in acute forms of coronary heart disease

Abstract

This article summarizes modern views on the pathogenesis, clinical presentation and treatment of myocardial
stunning. The methods of visualization and their comparative characteristics in the diagnosis of stunning
are described in detail. The clinical significance of determining myocardial viability before myocardial
revascularization was also analyzed, as well as the results of multicenter studies of STICH, PARR2, etc.
Considering the multifaceted clinical and prognostic positive values of determining myocardial stunning after
myocardial infarction, conducting clinical studies in this direction is considered justified and relevant.
