Abstract

A rare clinical case of successful surgical treatment of a complete transverse rupture of the pancreas in a patient
with a compression fracture of the thoracic vertebrae is described. Surgical treatment consisted in resection
of the tail part of the pancreas due to crushing of the body, suturing of the remaining parenchyma of the gland
and drainage of the omentum sac with the formation of an omentobursostomy for programmable revisions
and rehabilitation of the SS. The pancreatic fistula that appeared on the 15th day after the operation closed
independently by the end of the 47th day. The authors have shown that timely detection and radical treatment
of pancreatic injuries can reduce the risk of complications such as erosive bleeding, post-traumatic pancreatic
necrosis and increase the survival rate of patients with severe combined trauma.
