Abstract
The rarest clinical case of post-traumatic right-sided diaphragmatic hernia complicated by infringement of
the right lobe of the liver, large and small intestine with necrosis of the large omentum in a patient with
splanchnoptosis is described. A timely diagnosis and surgical intervention - laparotomy, reduction of the
strangulated abnormally located liver, small and half of the colon with resection of the large omentum,
thoracocentesis on the right, gastro and colonopexy led to the patient’s recovery. This case may be a
description of interest for abdominal and thoracic surgeons as well.
